TOMAHAWK – A short video created by Discover Wisconsin highlights numerous tomahawk businesses and the many ways to enjoy the great outdoors in the area.

Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director Sherry Hulett said the chamber of commerce hired Discover Wisconsin to create the approximately six-minute digital short. Hulett explained that the project will be financed by the lodging tax, which may only be used to promote tourism to increase the number of overnight stays.

The video, titled “Together in Tomahawk” and hosted by Rick Rose and Apurba Banerjee, was shot in June and released on Friday, July 22nd on the Discover Wisconsin YouTube channel.

In the video, Tomahawk is referred to as “the gateway to the Northwoods.”

Tomahawk businesses featured in the short include What’s Brewin’?, Cherie’s Sweet Sensations, Outboards Bar and Grill, and Dog N’ Suds.

The video also takes a look at the area’s outdoor recreation opportunities, with Rose and Banerjee highlighting ATV, hiking, biking and snowmobile trails, as well as Tomahawk’s golf courses – Edgewater Country Club and Inshalla Country Club. Also featured are the many ways to enjoy the water in and around Tomahawk, including pontoon boating, fishing and swimming, and the Kwahamot Ski Show at Lake Mohawksin.

Hulett said the companies featured in the video were ultimately decided by the production staff, noting that the Chamber helped by offering a list of activities that would be of interest to tourists.
