USACE waives day use fees at recreation areas in observance of Veterans Day > Little Rock District > News Releases

The US Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it will waive day-use fees at its more than 2,850 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide to celebrate Veterans Day, November 11th.

The waiver covers boat ramp and swimming beach fees. The waiver does not apply to camping and camping-related services or fees for special facilities and events. Other agencies administering recreational areas on USACE lands are encouraged, but not required, to offer the exemption in the areas they administer.

Visitors should contact USACE Projects prior to visiting to ensure the recreation areas are open. The status of USACE administered campgrounds, boat ramps, swimming beaches, and other locations is available at

USACE began waiving Veterans Day fees in 2006 to honor those who have served in our nation’s armed forces.

USACE is one of the premier federal providers of outdoor and water recreation, hosting millions of visitors annually to its more than 400 lake and river projects. It is estimated that 90 percent of USACE-operated recreation areas are within 50 miles of metropolitan areas and offer a variety of outdoor activities for all ages.
