MILLCREEK, UT – The Millcreek Common Skate Loop is the largest outdoor skating rink, with 11,000 square feet of ice
the state opens this weekend. To celebrate the grand opening, Millcreek hosts its first annual
Millcreek Magic Ice Show – Aurora Borealis on December 1st, 2nd and 3rd at Millcreek Common (1354 E Chambers
Avenue, Millcreek). Parking is available at Millcreek Common. Overflow parking is available in Millcreek City
Hall (3330S 1300E).
The free tickets to the event sold out in just two days, totaling nearly 6,000 tickets, which was far surpassed
the expectations of the organizers.
“We’ve been blown away by the response,” said Millcreek Mayor Jeff Silvestrini. “This is excellent
attendance for our city’s first ever ice show and demonstrates a tremendous demand in our community for
Outdoor winter fun,” he says.
The skate loop was made possible thanks to a $500,000 Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant. Muehlbach

The theme of this year’s ice show is Polar Lights. “It’s fun to see Millcreek Common’s Skate Loop
become a stage for skaters and performance artists to celebrate the scientific beauty and wonder of
Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis,” said Aimee McConkie, managing director of Millcreek Common.
“Together, the auroras are the most natural and breathtaking kaleidoscopes of light on Earth. This show will
impress guests with amazing performance artists, skaters, music, lights, projections, fire and more.”
