The hot new trend of sleeping outside on the floor is showing promise and could be the answer to the van life we’ve all been waiting for.

van life. What began as a minimalist movement has now become a maximalist exercise in excess. The scumbags who slumber in dirty sleeping bags on plywood in the back of Westfalia have given way to trust fund babies squabbling over which sink fixture is better Instagram friendly.

But as this video from Shaffer Nickel shows, there’s a new trend that’s making waves among outdoor enthusiasts. Apparently it involves sleeping outdoors (on the floor!) and is commonly referred to as “camping.”
