(Oregon Coast) – Las Vegas based tour company Escape Adventures has a fairly large list of tours around the world with some interesting angles. Now Escape Adventures (after a few years hiatus) is coming back home, so to speak, with a 6-day bike tour along the Oregon Coast. (On Cape Perpetua, one of the stops on the bike/camping tour. Escape Adventures named the Oregon coast as one of the state’s “seven wonders,” borrowing from an advertising slogan used by Travel Oregon a few years ago. It’s also known as the People’s Coast, but most of all it’s known for having 362 miles of publicly owned beaches that are freely accessible to everyone.

There are “magnificent pinnacles, sandstone cliffs, lively bays and rich sea breezes. Delightfully detached from noise and commerce, Coastal Oregon offers unrivaled road biking,” the company says.

Several small group tours are available in August and September from $1,599 per person sharing. Custom and private tours are also available. For more information, visit or call (702) 596-2953.

The company, which caters primarily to the public outside of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, notes the region’s “blissful isolation” from commerce and noise. For those with this robust disposition to cycling who have never ventured into this part of the Pacific this will be an excellent overview and introduction indeed.

“The Oregon Coast Bike Route is one of the most spectacular road trips in the United States, offering countless scenic vistas, hitting legendary places and revealing some hidden gems that are off the beaten track,” said Jared Fisher, CEO of Escape Adventures.

The tour takes you on a breathtaking 180-mile route – almost the entire top half of the coast, from Cannon Beach down to Florence.

Among the highlights:

Visit Cannon Beach, consistently featured by national media and home to Haystack Rock.

Spend the night in Manzanita, a peaceful but slightly hip and cool little village.

Cycle the Three Capes Tour, which takes you through Cape Meares and its lighthouse, Oceanside, Netarts and Cape Kiwanda.

Hanging out in Hart’s Cove, a somewhat mysterious cove near Lincoln City. Once in Lincoln City, the tour includes bird watching at Siletz Bay.

You will also visit Newport and Yaquina Head, famous bridges like this one and Depoe Bay, the Suislaw National Forest up to Cape Perpetua and visit the peak where the Stone Cabin is located. Nearby you’ll see Florence attractions like the Heceta Head Lighthouse – a structure over 100 years old – and the Darlingtonia State Natural Area with its unique insectivorous plants.

All internal land charges and services are included in the cost of the tour. All transportation, meal prep, meals (unless specified on itineraries), snacks, soft drinks, group supplies, and shared equipment (portable chairs, large awnings, coolers, utensils, etc.) are included. Backcountry permits, licenses, park fees, reservations, and accommodations (lodging) are also included, along with a minimum of two professionally trained tour guides, a mobile first aid and mechanic station, spare bikes, and one or more support vehicles. The tour price does not include airfare, pre-trip accommodation or bicycle hire and/or camping equipment (if on a camping tour) unless otherwise stated on the itinerary or website.
