Venezie Sporting Items is Again ‘Full Throttle’ in 2021 – Enterprise Journal Every day

Submitted by Vanessa Venezie, Vice President of Operations at Venezie Sporting Goods and Apparel, Ellwood City, PA.

Is your business back to normal?

Yes! We closed for the two months we had to and reopened on May 8, 2020. We got back to our jobs and were busy, but we had to lay off again in the first week of January, but only for a week.

In 2020 we had to accept a decline in sales of 32%. We will go full throttle again in 2021 and expect our growth to be back on track.

We love serving customers large and small, and we have the ability and staff to do so. As new business in just six years, we’ve grown from four to 26 employees and hope to continue growing to create more jobs in our small town of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. Our second location is in Eastvale, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

What is your “new normal”?

We wear masks. We warmly welcome all customers to our shop. We’ve put a plexiglass stand on our front counter that redeveloped stations and social distancing practices. However, we are still very close to the clothes we decorate! Our graphic designer works remotely, but it worked out for the best!

How do you rally around small businesses?

We help small businesses get their brand out there by helping them stand out with bespoke clothing from t-shirts to embroidered polos, promotional items and everything in between. With access to 30+ providers, we can usually find what they need to look, feel and be successful.

We provide donation opportunities with a contactless online ordering portal that allows people to shop online. As soon as the campaign is over, we will fulfill the orders, pack, ship and offer collection in our store. We use social media and post logos and articles that have been decorated by our clients, which also gives them a bit of free press!
