Mananthavady: A man who fell unconscious in a tree later died in hospital. Pilakavu native Rameshan, 46, a laborer at Parison’s estate, has been identified as the deceased. The accident happened on Friday afternoon.
Rameshan climbed one of the trees on his neighbor’s property to cut off branches that were hanging dangerously over their houses. Rameshan was trapped in the tree for almost an hour when he fell unconscious after climbing it. Locals who arrived at the site supported his back to prevent him from falling from the tree. Mananthavady Fire and Ambulance arrived at the scene, tripped him and took him to Government Medical College in Wayanad. He was then taken to the Government Medical College in Kozhikode for expert treatment, but died in the evening.
Wife: Saritha, Children: Akshaya, Abhinav. He is the son of the late Prabhakaran and Devaki. Siblings: Sandhya, Sabitha. The cremation took place on Saturday.
