This is the moment when a young man climbed the roof of a house and refused to come down when Gardai tried to arrest him.

The bizarre incident occurred this afternoon on Morne Road in Drimnagh.

It is believed that Gardai were called to the location of an incident in the area and attempted to arrest the man.

The suspect escaped capture and climbed onto the roof of the house.

He is said to have stayed on the roof for a few hours.

In a video that was recorded on site, someone can be heard asking him to come down from the roof.

The young man replies: “No, I am not coming down because I was arrested for doing nothing.”

Then he leans back against the chimney on the roof of the house.

It is believed that the man eventually climbed off the roof into a local park, where he was able to run away from the Gardai who tried to arrest him.
