Wilson Sporting Items to open first NYC retailer

Newmark Retail announced a long-term lease for Wilson Sporting Goods for 7,163 b / w on 594 Broadway from GFP Real Estate.

In addition to the store, Wilson will open a pop-up with New York’s most famous tennis event in mid-August. The traditional sports brand will open a select collection of retail concepts nationwide with its first New York outpost in Soho.

Ariel Schuster and Ben Birnbaum, Vice Chairmen of Newmark, and Associate Director Andrew Taub represented the landlord on the transaction, while Jessica Connolly from Schuster and Vela Retail Advisors represented the tenant.

Wilson Sporting Goods, a global sports equipment, apparel, and accessories brand, launched Wilson Sportswear in the United States and China in May 2021. They create a comprehensive brand experience at the interface of sport, fashion and culture. Wilson Sportswear, a performance-driven lifestyle sportswear line for men and women, is designed to combine sport, fashion and culture. The direct-to-consumer line is sold exclusively on Wilson’s website and at its retail locations in key markets.

“NYC is the US retail epicenter. Soho is the perfect setting for Wilson’s flagship store and will allow its millions of current customers to experience the brand in person. We are confident that the store will be a must for both New Yorkers and tourists, ”said Schuster.

Formerly known as the Lyons Building, 594 Broadway is a 12-story office building that was completed in 1898. Originally designed as a department store by Buchman & Deisler, the property is located on Broadway between bustling West Houston and Prince Streets.
