WMA Rules Prohibit Fireworks, Tenting Restrictions Lifted for Vacation

BISMARCK, ND (G&F) — The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is reminding citizens that the possession or use of fireworks is prohibited in state wildlife areas.

The primary goal of a wildlife management area is to enhance wildlife production, provide hunting and fishing opportunities, and offer other outdoor recreational and educational uses consistent with these goals. Only activities that would not interfere with the intentions of the administration of these areas will be encouraged, and fireworks are not compatible.

In addition, the Game and Fish Department will lift the Tuesday-Wednesday no-camping restriction for the upcoming July 4 holiday week, allowing overnight camping July 5-6 at the WMAs that otherwise have this two-day restriction.

A complete list of WMA regulations can be found on the Game and Fish website at gf.nd.gov.
