‘World class’ climbing facility opens in Southampton

One of Team GB’s up-and-coming climbers was a guest of honor when a new world-class climbing center opened in Southampton.

On Monday, Parthian Climbing opened the doors to its newest world-class climbing center in Southampton.

The 25,000 square meter, specially built center is located in Adanac Park and includes extensive bouldering walls, climbing ropes, automatic safety devices and fast climbing.

The center is also home to a copy of the Olympic bouldering wall that will be seen at the 2021 Tokyo Games, the only one of its kind in Europe.

Will Bosi, widely regarded as a medalist at the 2024 Games, was the guest of honor at the opening of the center and described it as a “fantastic climbing facility”. He said, “Nobody will be disappointed – it’s absolutely breathtaking.”

Parthian Climbing Southampton is designed to appeal to everyone from beginners to professionals. It also offers a gym, barista coffee area, and dining options.

Southampton is the fourth center of its kind in the UK and the Chief Executive and Founder of Parthian Climbing. John Dunne said he was “pleased to finally be open”.
