Yosemite Nationwide Park To Require Permits For In a single day Climbing Treks

Yosemite National Park requires permits for climbers planning overnight / NPS

Climbers traveling to Yosemite National Park for overnight trips will require a permit to climb in the wild from May 21st.

This two-year pilot program is being conducted to better understand how park visitors use the great walls of Yosemite, improve the ethics of climbing wilderness and reduce the negative human impacts associated with using tall walls overnight.

Climbing permits for overnight stays are available from May 14th at 8 a.m. local time. These permits are free of charge for the duration of the pilot program. Please see this page for more information.
